Scan App

I figured there are others out there like me who are just discovering all the things your iPhone can do. This post will tell you about this neat scan app I found and it is free! I like free!

My husband had to get some of his mom’s documents scanned to me from another state. I thought, hey there should be a scan app for that! There seems to be an app for everything else. So I checked my iPhone and found one for free. It was called Genius Scan.

I loaded it on my iPhone and tested it according to the directions. It was so simple to use! No more going to the scanner (printer) next to the computer, load the scan program, wait for the printer to scan the image, save it and name it. Then create an email to attach the scan to your email. Wow! That seems like a lot of work to me now that I found this app!

Load the app to your iPhone. Then click on the orange app, click the camera picture, take a picture of the document, then click “use” or “retake”.  If the picture looks good, click “use”, then “select” at the top right. The app then crops and enhances the image. Click the arrow at the bottom right corner, select “PDF” or “JPG” (usually PDF is blue and highlighted already for you), then click “email” right below “PDF”, then select “medium” and the screen flips to the screen to send the email. All you do is type the email address, list something in the “subject” area (if needed) and click “send” at the top right corner. You’re done!

I would recommend playing around with the “rotate” and “crop” options for fun. Then send the document to your own email to test it. You will see it looks amazing! I love this scan app called Genius Scan! Try it, you’ll love it too!
